Due to recent in house promotion we have a News / Sports position open in Pella, Iowa. We are an award winning news department that does local news like it is supposed to be done. We strive every day to bring the local community the news and information it deserves and can not get anywhere else.

Pella is one of the greatest communities in Iowa and we know you’ll love it here. Located conveniently close to Des Moines, Lake Red Rock, and the Knoxville Raceway.

This position would be best fit for someone that has had previous radio news experience and loves the daily news beat. When news happens, we are there… and our listeners have come to expect it. We have 3 person news team, so you will play an important role in the news team. Gathering, writing, and reporting are all part of the role you will play in our daily broadcasts of local news content.

We have a great community presence as well. We live, work, and get involved in the communities we are in, and expect you to do the same. Building relationships and growing the current relationships we have with local newsmakers, will ensure your success. We have news systems and standards we follow on a daily and weekly basis. This makes it easy for you to jump in and start raising the level of our local news content.

This position also has Sports potential (the current News Director covers high school and college sports). Those with sports interest and experience will rise to the top of our list of potential candidates. Play by play and daily sports stories are a part of the sports component of this position. We have a staff of 5 current sports people and you would fulfill one of these positions.

We have 2 radio stations (in this group) KNIA (AM) and KRLS (FM), a strong website, and use social media components to to drive people to these content sources and correspond with our listeners. We get it!
